Game Recap: Giants 1, Diamondbacks 0

  • Tim Lincecum: 8 IP, 0 R, 9 K, 2 BB, 1.43 FIP. Should we have expected any less?
  • Andres Torres is back in the leadoff spot, and I couldn't be happier. He reached base twice, saw 20 pitches in four plate appearances, and looked great in centerfield.
  • Mark DeRosa didn't look too good tonight. That said, he should be starting at third base over Miguel Tejada......... I miss Pablo Sandoval.

That's kind of how I expect the Giants to win, at least until Pablo Sandoval returns. The offense is just bad. There's no other way to put it. All things considered, I think the Giants are in okay shape if the pitchers can be themselves, and the offense can score the occasional run. It's hard to watch, and we'll see an inconsistent team, but that's what you get when you have a great pitching staff paired with a sub-mediocre offense.

(Give me credit for not complaining about Aaron Rowand in this recap.)
