August 3rd Preview (vs. Aaron Cook @COL)

The Giants look to continue their hot streak (14-4 since the All Star Break) against their rivals in Denver. Jonathan Sanchez will get the start against Aaron Cook. With the Giants' offense as hot as ever, and good team numbers against Aaron Cook (The Giants have a collective .407 batting average against him), they'll look to keep on hitting. Pat Burrell has the best numbers (13 for 22) against Aaron Cook. There's also good news in that Aaron Rowand is finally heating up (.385 over his last 8 games).

Jonathan Sanchez is having a respectable season thanks to his dynamic mix of pitches. Hitters own just a .219 average against him this year (4th in the NL). He's coming off of his worst month of the season (4.50 ERA in July), and will look to rebound against a team that he has not had much success against (6.75 ERA in 16 games). Troy Tulowitzki, not surprisingly, has the best marks against him (7 for 15, .467 average).

Giants are 4-6 vs. COL this year.

Notable: Giants starters have tossed 4 straight quality starts.
