I'm ecstatic. Obviously, nothing's official yet. But Brandon Belt's an exciting player to watch -- and he's got a lot to offer, both offensively and defensively. Starting him in the majors to begin the year, if that is the Giants' course of action, shows that they mean business this year -- they are competing for another World Series title, and they aren't going to risk it by keeping Belt in the minors.
Again, nothing's official yet. Still -- very exciting news.
