Pablo Sandoval Has a Hamate Bone Injury

Pablo has some kind of injury. He wouldn't say what. Said he couldn't talk about it. I asked him if it was big, and he said, "Yes."Sat Apr 30 17:43:55 via Echofon

How bad is this? Very bad. Really really bad. What do you get when you take a struggling offense and remove its best hitter?

If Pablo Sandoval is out for only 4-6 weeks, the Giants can probably get by -- though it certainly won't be easy.

And to be the bearer of more bad news, a quote from ESPN's Keith Law...
Typical recovery time for power after a hamate injury is 12-18 months.

Basically, this sucks. This must be how the Rockies felt when they lost Troy Tulowitzki for several weeks last year.
