Game Recap: Giants 4, Diamondbacks 3

  • Andres Torres: a couple of hits, a walk, and a beautiful catch to end the game. I really hope he stays healthy.
  • Congratulations to Miguel Tejada on a good game. Three hits, and he was due; he'd had some significant bad luck on balls in play thus far.
  • After walking 12 guys in his previous two starts, Jonathan Sanchez walked just two hitters tonight. It wasn't the smoothest start (like most other Sanchez starts...), but ultimately, the results were good: 6 IP, 3 R, 7 K, 2 BB.

Call me crazy, but I don't think the Giants will be consistently scoring runs like this:

But hey, the Giants are tied for first place, for whatever that's worth at this point.

Anyway, it's hard to be optimistic about this offense, but I present you with this:

Team wRC+
Giants 80
Rockies 81

As bad as the Giants' hitting has been, so has the Rockies'.
