...but they wasted a bad outing from Jhoulys Chacin. Chacin, through the first three innings, tossed 61 pitches, only 28 of them strikes. But as it would turn out, the Giants failed to take advantage of a pitcher that clearly wasn't "on", and Chacin eventually (sort of) settled down. The Giants managed to score just one run, with a grand total of four hits and three walks.
It happens.
The most important thing I got from watching this game: I found out that top draft prospect Gerrit Cole (UCLA) is dating Brandon Crawford's sister.
