- The Giants struck out nine times in this game. Every single non-pitcher in the starting lineup struck out...except Brandon Crawford.
- Not a particularly special outing from Matt Cain, but a great one nonetheless. Should we expect anything less? 7.0 IP, 7 K, 4 BB, 1 R
- Matt Cain also had a single in the game, continuing a season-long trend of good hitting from Giants starters. Check this out --

Anyway, I think this game followed the basic "how the Giants are/were meant to win games" formula:
- Insert good starting pitching for seven innings
- Insert a few runs here
- Insert good reliever (Lopez if there are leftys to be faced!)
- Insert Brian Wilson
That formula works, when the Giants are able to score. But alas, that's not always the case...
Anyway, it's good to see the Giants back home. One thing not talked about enough, the Giants have played 61% of their games on the road thus far. They'll have it easier as the season progresses, so they appear to be in pretty good shape with respect to their future schedule...
