UPDATE: Jaymee Sire of CSN Bay Area just retweeted it, so I'm pretty sure this is true (and not just an unsubstantiated rumor).
Max Ramirez owns a career .217/.343/.357 slash line over 140 major-league plate appearances -- which actually isn't that bad for a catcher. In Triple-A this year, however, he's hit .229/.267/.339 (131 PA) -- which is simply awful. He has a little upside with the bat, and good on-base abilities, but it's been a while since he did anything impressive with the bat (you'd have to really go back to 2008, in AA). In addition, his defense is pretty awful.

If it wasn't already, Max Ramirez signing is official. He's listed on the Grizzlies' roster, DHing in tonight's lineup.
