It's 3 AM here on the east coast, so I'll be brief. In fact, I'm pretty sure I tweeted all of this already:
-- I'm fully convinced now, if I wasn't before: Nate Schierholtz should be the Giants' everyday right-fielder until he becomes a free agent in 2015.
-- The Giants' bullpen: eight scoreless innings, 13 strikeouts, two walks, and two hits. Pretty remarkable.
-- Giants starters have had some pretty tough luck over the past few games: 18 innings with 16 strikeouts and just three walks, but 13 earned runs.
-- Dustin Moseley, a pitcher who's averaged 4.84 strikeouts per nine innings over his career, struck out nine of the 28 Giants he faced over 7.1 innings. That's how bad this offense is. I believe Moseley's career-high entering this game was six.
-- Aubrey Huff has yet to start hitting; a sub-.300 OBP from a first baseman is simply unacceptable for a team trying to contend.
