- Buster Posey is making progress in his recovery. According to the San Jose Mercury News, on Friday, he'll undergo one more surgery to remove the screws from his ankle.
- The LAPD has arrested two suspects in the Bryan Stow case, and have concluded that Giovanni Ramirez was not responsible. Stow, who remains in the hospital, underwent emergency surgery earlier this week.
- The Giants have signed 24 of their picks from the 2011 MLB draft, though as far as I know, Joshua Osich, Ricky Oropeza, and Andrew Susac remain unsigned.
- Speaking of which, RHP Kyle Crick, the Giants' supplemental round pick in this year's draft, made his professional debut last night. He pitched 1.1 scoreless innings with three strikeouts. According to Jason Cole of LoneStarDugout.com, his fastball was at 92-94 mph with a good 77-78 mph curveball (and one slider at 86).
- Earlier today, Brian Sabean made an appearance on KNBR in which he discussed -- among other things -- Brandon Belt, Aubrey Huff, and the current trade market. One quote in particular stood out: "We're prepared to play Belt as much as he can stay on the field and contribute."
- Sabean also gave some injury updates: the tendinitis is no longer an issue for Jonathan Sanchez, who will make another rehab start (75 pitches) on Friday. He'll get one more start after that before evaluation. In addition, Freddy Sanchez will start DHing on Monday, and could return to the Giants some time in late August.
- Pablo Sandoval, meanwhile, is expected to return to the lineup on Friday.
- Lastly, the Giants are scheduled to visit the White House on Monday.
