- In the last two games, he's effectively doubled his home run total from four to eight.
- As Bay City Ball noted on Twitter, Huff raised his SLG by 55 points tonight.
- It's kind of surprising Jonathan Sanchez managed to go five innings with such an awful performance. One K, six walks. One thing to note though: he induced five infield flyballs...so that sort of helped.
- The Giants' run differential is finally positive, at +1 (206 RS, 205 RA).
- If you watched tonight's game, this is hilarious.
If Huff plays like he did in 2010 from here on out -- and that's a big if -- the Giants have quite a formidable team. Pablo Sandoval's set to return soon (he's about to start his rehabbing assignments), and it looks like Miguel Tejada's reign of terror is nearing its end. Things are looking good.
Also, this is pretty important to remember:
The San Francisco Giants play in the NL West.
As awful as the Giants' hitting has looked in the first third of the season, the NL West is pathetic. I'm probably just on a high right now, as the Giants have scored 18(!) runs in their past two games, but I'm feeling pretty confident about the rest of the season...
...As long as there are no more injuries.
